APFKR Unveils New Logo and Refreshed Visual Identity
We are unveiling a new logo and a refreshed visual identity for our organisation. The redesign is part of a new stage in the union's development, alongside the launch of an official website and an update of our communication platform.
Over nine years, APFKR has grown from an initiative built almost from scratch into a fully established organisation representing the interests of Kyrgyzstan's professional footballers at both national and international levels. During this period, we gained international recognition, became a member of FIFPRO, took part in projects to protect players' rights, represented footballers in cases before FIFA, and contributed to the drafting of key regulations in Kyrgyz football, including the KFU Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players and the Regulations of the National Dispute Resolution Chamber.
The organisation has changed. With this came the need to update its visual identity as well.
A new website — the union's official platform
The website you are currently on — unionkg.org — becomes APFKR's official information platform. It will publish union news, legal materials, educational projects, official statements, information about our activities, and key initiatives in the field of player rights protection.
But the informational side is only one part of the new platform. The most important thing we built into the website is an internal communication system between the union and footballers. It includes a personal player portal, digitalisation of the key stages of interaction with the union, and convenient tools for submitting requests, filing documents, and tracking ongoing cases. The connection between a footballer and the union now becomes direct, transparent, and accessible in just a few clicks — from any device.
Why the new logo is more than a redesign
The previous logo appeared together with the union in 2017 and became part of the story of how the organisation was built. Over the years, however, the scope of our work has expanded, the community of players has grown, and new areas of activity and new standards of work have emerged.
The new logo was not created for the sake of a visual change alone. Its purpose is to reflect what APFKR is today: a modern, independent, and unifying organisation of professional footballers in Kyrgyzstan.
Tunduk — a symbol of unity
At the heart of the new logo lies the tunduk — the upper circular element of the Kyrgyz yurt, through which light enters the home. The tunduk is depicted at the centre of the state flag of the Kyrgyz Republic as a symbol of unity, a shared home, and the connection between generations.

For us, this image carries a special meaning.
Just as the elements of the tunduk come together into a single structure and hold it in place, the union brings together footballers in Kyrgyzstan regardless of club, league, age, gender, or status. In professional football, players often face difficulties — delayed wages, contract termination, lack of legal protection, or uncertainty in their career. In such moments, it is especially important to know that there is a structure capable of supporting and defending the footballer's interests.
At the centre — the footballer and the game. Around them — protection, support, and solidarity.
Football within the symbol
The new logo reveals more than just the tunduk. The intersecting lines also form the image of a football, uniting national identity and professional football, tradition and modernity, culture and the game within a single symbol.
The new logo reflects the core idea of our organisation: the footballers of Kyrgyzstan are a single professional community.
A new name
Along with the new logo, we are also updating our official acronym. The previous abbreviation was AFKR. It is now APFKR: the Association of Professional Footballers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The added word "professional" highlights the main focus of our work — representing and defending the interests of professional players, for whom football is not a hobby but a profession.
What remains unchanged
The logo is changing. The visual identity is being refreshed. A new website is being launched. But our core mission remains unchanged — protecting the rights and interests of professional footballers in Kyrgyzstan.
We will continue to develop the system for player protection, to strengthen the professional community of footballers, and to nurture a culture of solidarity in Kyrgyz football.
The union has been and remains the shared home of professional footballers in Kyrgyzstan.
And here, no one is left alone.
